Practical Crisis Resources
Family Justice Centers (FJCs) are multicultural, walk-in facilities that bring together professionals from multiple social and legal service agencies, including Safe Horizon, to help survivors of violent crimes. This collaborative environment helps crime survivors to quickly and easily locate desperately needed resources to recover and rebuild their lives.
Operated by the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence, FJCs offer services in multiple languages and help survivors regardless of their immigration status. FJCs also provide a place for children ages three and up to go while their parents receive services, including:
- Crisis Intervention
- Safety planning and risk assessment
- Counseling for survivors and their children
- Legal assistance
- Shelter referrals
- Help applying for housing and financial assistance
- A range of services to aid survivors on their road to self-sufficiency and success
FJCs are walk-in facilities and you do not need to make an appointment ahead of time.
All hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
